The introduction of the new legislation affecting agents and private landlords in November is no revelation but like any law change, adjusting to fulfilling your new obligations can be a minefield for all involved. Established accountancy firm Bevan & Buckland makes it their business to support organisations and sole traders in light of legislative changes and with the Rent Smart Wales Landlord licensing deadline swiftly approaching their service extends to helping landlords too.
The practice is hosting a training day on Monday 19th September 2016 at The Village Hotel in Swansea. The event will provide an intensive course for agents and landlords who manage rental property in Wales, all of which will need a Rent Smart Wales Landlord Licence under the new legislation.
“By 23rd November 2016 all agents and residential letting landlords managing one or more properties in Wales, we need a Rent Smart Wales Landlord Licence. Attending our course will not only ensure that you are well informed regarding your changing obligations and licensing requirements, but make sure that you don’t incur any penalties as a result. In addition to providing essential training for landlords, agents attending our course will receive a further 90 minutes of specialist training,” said Harri Lloyd Davies, Partner at Bevan & Buckland.
With tickets priced at £100 (this cost is inclusive of VAT) per person, the event includes training from licensed trainer and landlord Paul Williams. The day also ends with a short test to determine whether each agent or landlord qualifies and the certification required to obtain the licence will be awarded. Please note, there are further costs for registration and licensing in order to become a fully licensed agent or landlord.
Food and drink is included in the ticket price, and the event begins with coffee and registration at 9am with the official training programme starting promptly at 9.30am.
“Our very own Tax Director Lee Bradley will also be speaking at this event to provide current information on other important legislation and deliver helpful tax tips for landlords. The rest of our team will also be available during and long after the event to provide further assistance. There’s still time to get your ticket for our agent and landlord training day, so get in touch now to avoid disappointment,” concluded Harri.
